Setting Up Your Team

Create a Team

  1. After signing in tap Create New Team
  2. Enter your team name (e.g. "G3 12U Gonzalez" or "SCA Middle School Softball")
  3. Select your sport — Baseball or Softball
  4. Select your level — age group (8U through 18U), Middle School, or High School
  5. Tap Create Team

Add Your Roster

After creating your team add your players:

  1. Navigate to Roster in the bottom navigation
  2. Tap Add Player
  3. Enter first name, last name, and jersey number
  4. Select primary position(s)
  5. Optionally add parent contact information

You can add players at any time — you do not need a complete roster before starting to log data.

Team Level Selection

The level you select affects ERA calculation:

  • 8U through 12U — ERA calculated based on 6-inning games
  • 13U through 18U, Middle School, High School — ERA calculated based on 7-inning games

Select the level that matches your team's actual game format.

Connect your existing group chat so your team can access it directly from Playlytics.

  1. Navigate to Settings → Team Settings
  2. Scroll to Team Communication
  3. Paste your group chat invite link
  4. Tap Save

The chat link appears as a 💬 Chat button on your dashboard, schedule, game hub, and roster screens. Tapping it opens your group chat directly.

Supported platforms:

  • GroupMe
  • Band
  • WhatsApp
  • TeamSnap
  • Remind
  • Slack
  • Any other group chat with a shareable link

The button label automatically shows the platform name — a GroupMe link shows 💬 GroupMe, a Band link shows 💬 Band, and so on.

Who can set the link: Only the Head Coach can add or update the team communication link. All team members — coaches, parents, and players — can tap the button to open the chat.

During onboarding: When setting up a new team you will be prompted to add your group chat link as an optional final step. You can also add or update it at any time through team settings.

Multiple Teams

The Coach subscription supports one team. The Organization subscription supports up to five teams. Switch between active teams using the team selector in the app header or on the dashboard.
